
Alan: I have long marveled that America still ranks among the Top 20 Happiest Nations.
Clearly, many Americans are hateful and angry.
There is a good chance, if not likelihood, that our bitter political - even venemous - sentiments will only worsen.
Perhaps we, as a people, have descended so far into depression, despair, hostility and hate that we can no longer squarely confront our psycho-spiritual shambles.
How can it be that we -- "exceptional people" living in "the greatest country on earth" -- find ourselves consumed by rage and the twisted animus rage brings in tow?
