  2. If you repeat a lie enough times, it almost feels real. No, PRESIDENT William J. Clinton has NOT been accused of rape 17 times. He has been accused of rape once – and sexual assault once. Juanita Broderick recanted her accusation under oath. While that is not conclusive proof she lied, it certainly makes it more dubious than any of the claims made against Trump. Broderick would have been the darling of the GOP in 1998. These women swear they are telling the truth, and have faced serious threats since coming forward.
The other accusation came from Kathleen Wiley (the other Trump guest). There are 8 accusations of SEXUAL HARASSMENT (including Paula Jones - who settled her claim for 800k. Clinton wanted to postpone trial until after his term. When court said no, he settled for sake of the country. Actually quite reasonable. There was no admission of guilt. The other 7 "claims" are not accusations but affairs, such as Gennifer Flowers and Monica Lewinsky. Of these, only the Lewinsky case has legal repercussions because of her position as an intern. On the other hand, she was a consenting adult. The number 17 comes from a misleading headline "Bill clinton Sex Allegations: 17 claims of Rape and Affairs." Typical trash talk to make things look infinitely worse. Nevertheless, I have never and cannot imagine ever putting myself in a position where I would be "accused " of rape. Sure enough, President Clinton's dalliances are not at issue. Their only relevance his dalliances have to this election is as evidence of Secretary Clinton's fortitude and her ability to rise above the humiliation to which he exposed her. This ridiculous claim that she does not stand up for women because she defended her husband against personal and political attacks is absurd. By any definition she was as much a victim of his misconduct – which one can only surmise she fought against believing. Women - and men - have been betrayed for thousands of years. That Hillary salvage her 40 year marriage as well as her career in public service is a testament to her character. The attacks from the Bannon/Conway camp are an insult to common sense and to every spouse who has overcome betrayal.
