"Hitler's Economic Miracle"
Alan: I wholeheartedly condemn any suggestion that Hitler's economic miracle justified territorial expansion, ethnic prejudice, the purging of n'er-do-wells-and-cripples, or "The Final Solution." However, it is a fact that Hitler worked an economic miracle.
Indeed, Hitler worked this miracle after the German people had been thrice devastated: first by World War I; then by The Great Depression; and by the onerous monetary tribute Germany had to pay the allied nations -- for decades to come! -- according to the terms of the Versailles Treaty. (According to the Treaty of Versailles, Germany would continue paying tribute to the winners of WWI into the 1970s!)
Donald Trump promises a similar economic miracle and many Americans -- mostly "Aryan-white" Americans -- are infuriated by any opposition to Trump "taking the reins" of an economy which is collapsing The Middle Class.
Although stupidity and ignorance play significant roles in Trump's rise, The Donald's popularity is grounded in a prurient hope that those Americans whose fortunes are "on the skids" will be re-made in the image of Mammon's most recent incarnation.
