Then, when a political issue proves unimaginably complicated (instead of being "just that simple") every complex-but-manageable issue gets overshadowed by the naive unpreparedness of "simplifiers" who have neither acquired the knowledge nor the political skills to thrash out intelligent agreements with an eye to "The Common Good." 

Instead, "overly-principled" simplifiers are left with no other arrow in their quiver except to rely -- with infantile gullibility -- on "the invisible hand" of the "omniscient marketplace."

Yeah. Right.
