The Centrality Of Research: Dalai Lama, Mahatma Gandhi, Teilhard de Chardin S.J.

"Life really does begin at forty. Up until then, you are just doing research."

***

Tenzin Gyatso, the Dalai Lama: "Your efforts must be realistic. We must not rely on appearances. We must do research to determine what is real. With no research, you can't find reality."

***

Mahatma Gandhi: "My uniform experience has convinced me that there is no other God than Truth."

***

Teilhard de Chardin S.J.: "There is less difference than people think between Research and Adoration."

Or more directly: "Adoration’s real name … is Research."

De Chardin claimed that without research "there can be no possibility… of real mystical life."

The prophet Muhammad is quoted as saying
"The ink of the scholar is holier than the blood of the martyr".

Notably, the greater war strategist in history, Sun Tzu, author of "The Art of War" observed that "All war is based on deception."
