Alan: Tonight, at the Chautauqua Amphitheater, I had the surpassing pleasure of witnessing Paul Simon and Billy Collins give a joint music-poetry presentation. It was ineffable. During the course of the evening, Collins was asked if there were any poets he envied and he answered "Fewer and fewer." However, the one he did single out was Serbian-American, Charles Simic, whose work strikes Billy as beyond all explanation.
