A coincidence too far. One way conspiracy theorists go wrong is by imbuing random facts and coincidences with a significance they don’t deserve.
Take a new left-wing conspiracy theory linking Vladimir Putin’s (alleged) daughter to mysterious Internet traffic between servers owned by Donald Trump’s presidential campaign, a bank in Russia, and a healthcare company owned by the husband of Trump’s future education secretary, Betsy DeVos, in 2016.
Come to find out, that same healthcare company owns a hospital that has an endocrinology department AND Vladimir Putin’s (alleged) daughter is -- get this -- an endocrinologist!
