I've been in Oaxaca a week now and, in addition to bounteous cultural enrichment, photo ops and meeting people, my two "formal projects" -- arranging a "Oaxaca Tour" for "my" band and launching a "retiro-culture-and-learning center" for North American "snow birds" -- are both going well.
Back in January I created the meme which leads the following blog post about General McCaffrey.
Then, at our subsequent lunch, I asked if American military brass didn't have a moral obligation to do what McCaffrey has now done.
Although your answer wasn't pithy enough to stay with me verbatim, the gist was that the proper role of U.S. military leaders was to create a kind of cocoon around SOBMF so they could wall him off and work from within to apply restraints.
