Alan: What follows is my reply to a Facebook post that seeking to defend the Trump boys' slaughter of large African game: "Very misleading! Here are the facts and proper context! http://www.forbes.com/.../tmz-is-wrong-about-donald.../...
It is true that culling elephant herds is sometimes deemed necessary although there are more intelligent proposals for herd management. See "Time To Re-Think Elephant Culling": http://www.ifaw.org/africa/node/16271
The Trump family might also follow the footsteps of "The American Who’s Buying Up South America," thus contributing to the preservation of these magnificent animals -- and their habitats -- rather than participating in the anachronism of "he-man" slaughter. http://observers.france24.com/en/20100128-man-who-buying-south-america-chilet-argentine-parcs-prives-douglas-tompkins
The majestic leopard whose limp body the Trump boys proudly display was not in need of culling.

Nor is there any evidence that the other large game animals killed by the Trumps were in need of culling. Rather, they were killed for the "pleasure" of bloodsport. (There was a time when the most civilized people in the world thought Coliseum bloodsport was worthy of applause.)
Although killing-for-sport is still considered "normal" in some quarters, the urge to slaughter "for fun" appeals to an ever dwindling population of atavists.
