At FRONTLINE, we're always after the untold story, and we feel it's increasingly important to look at what's happening in communities that aren't usually the subject of mainstream media coverage.
That's why I'm so pleased to tell you that Rape in the Fields -- our June 2013 collaborative investigation of the hidden reality of rape on the job for undocumented women in America's farms, fields, and factories -- has just been honored with the 2014 Alfred I. duPont-Columbia University Award for excellence in broadcast and digital news.
Our yearlong cross-platform investigation, led by Lowell Bergman, was carried out with three remarkable partners: Bergman's Investigative Reporting Program (IRP) at the UC Berkeley Graduate School of Journalism, the Center for Investigative Reporting, and the television network Univision (which aired a Spanish-language version of the documentary several days after FRONTLINE's English-language broadcast on PBS).
It's a proud day for FRONTLINE, and for the partners who worked so hard to get this important story told.
Thank you for watching, for caring, and for helping us get here.
Raney Aronson-Rath
Deputy Executive Producer, FRONTLINE
