Correspondence Concerning Trump With 94 Year Old Retired Air Force General Friend, AC

So, Which Shell Is My Policy Under? | made w/ Imgflip meme maker
Alan: We cannot know "which shell" Trump's policy is under because he himself does not know.
Trump's central inclination is to
make stuff up, stuff that inflames visceral passions,
passions that are unthinking, reactionary, contemptuous, punitive and retaliatory.
It is also true that Trump is very "good" to family and submissive-or-adulatory friends.
During the campaign he was able to persuade members of the white working class -- the same people he routinely "stiffs" with non-payment -- that they are his friends.

Dear Arthur,

I always enjoy your wit and wisdom, but yesterday's lunch was unusually delightful.

I am also grateful for your A.M. email and the insight it contains.

Yesterday, I was struck by your central concern with Trump's cabinet and the loons likely to comprise it.

Trump himself might be too indolent and caught up in "glitz" to take much interest in the nuts-and-bolts of the presidency. And although highly unlikely, it is not impossible Donald could surprise us all by using the office - primarily - as a yuuuuuge "Twitter Pulpit."

However, his achichincles -- Gingrich, Giuliani, Christie, Bannon and even Sarah Palin who is being considered for Secretary of the Interior -- are all insufferable egotists, any one of whom could unleash havoc. As a mutually-reinforcing cabal of deplorables, "the (polluted) sky is the limit."

Concerning your observation that Russia is likely to stir the pot in order to determine, as soon as possible, how Trump can be goaded into injudiciousness, I encourage you to listen to yesterday's Diane Rehm Show.

Diane Rehm Show: 'Every Single Bad Guy In The World Is Cheeing Trump's Victory'

God help us.

Paz contigo

Alan

On NPR this morning I heard the Trump priorities for the first 100 days:
Immigration reform, health care reform and job creation .
I heard these reiterated more than once.
I think it likely that a surprise will appear before the end of that period:
I expect that China and/or Russia will launch provocative explorations (e.g. South Pacific, Baltic borders) to ascertain the Trump reaction.
They too have priorities for those early months. . .
