Homo Trumpicus: In The View Of "Rigid Father" Moralists, Violence Is "The Final Solution"

Hillary's Ad About Donald Trump As Role Model: "Our Children Are Watching"

Dear F,

Concerning Trump's desire to shoot Iranian small craft out of the water... http://www.infowars.com/trump-i-would-shoot-confrontational-iranian-ships/

There is a categorical difference between harrassment and hostility.

Responding to harrassment as if it were hostility is rooted in "strict father," "direct causation" "morality."

This cumbersome, tedious mouthful is explained with engaging insight by George Lakoff.

When violent punishment is deemed the fallback solution to every problem -- real or perceived -- why the hell shouldn't we kill ALL the people not like me.

After all, I am the divinely-ordained Righteous One and have an exceptional All-American pedigree to prove it. (As if anyone needed more proof than Donald "The Savior" Trump.)

Surely, the application of ever-increasing violence will result in a Final Solution.

I disagree with you about The Donald J. Trump Foundation.

We know a lot about this organization and Trump's cynical manipulation of it.

For example, we know that Donald has not donated to his own foundation since 2008, and subsequently made one large charitable donation -- to The Clinton Foundation!?! -- paying for it with other people's money which, typically, he represented as money out of his own pocket.

Compendium Of Pax Posts About Donald Trump

If Trump Wins And Your Kids Google "First Lady," Here's What They'll Get

Even with all this information at our disposal, it is unlikely that more than a small fraction of Americans will -- or even can -- change their minds since each of us is locked into moral codes ruled by the values deriving from "strict fathers" or "nurturant parents."

George Lakoff: How Trump Uses Your Brain Against You And Why His Policy Details Don't Matter

http://paxonbothhouses.blogspot.com/2016/08/george-lakoff-how-trump-uses-your-brain_26.html

Those of us acculturated to "strict father morality" only care about the uncompromising triumph of Top-Down Authority, and the stronger that authority (whether it manifests through the infallibility of a political leader, a pope or a body of scripture) the better.

When push comes to shove, "strict father moralists" are eager for totalitarianism-enforced-by-brute-violence-and-hellish-torment: truth, love, peace, compassion, democracy be damned.

Hitler and Mussolini took control because people wanted them to take control.

Or, "The Good Germans" (and "The Good Italians") did not care enough to oppose totalitarianism.

We comfort ourselves with the erroneous belief that fascists delude their followers - and that well-reasoned, fact-based "enlightenment" will turn the tide.

In fact, fascists take control during times of economic stress and cultural seige --- a last ditch attempt by "the weak, cowardly and threatened" to reclaim what they consider lost. And to this end they surrender their political will to whichever howling ape chest-thumps loudest.

To the extent that delusion comes into play, it is because people want to be deluded.

Not only do "strict father moralists" disregard truth, they are actively antagonistic to any truth that jeopardizes the dominance of Strict Father

This behavioral paradigm is the oldest, most essentially zoological paradigm in human experience: Dominance-Submission Hierarchy based on brute strength... originally, the dominant upper-body strength of the human male.

Confronting the dyadic divide between "strict father moralists" and "nurturant parent moralists," we confront fundamental identity definitions that are less subject to change than our sexual preferences.

With surprising regularity, people "come out of the closet."

Almost never do they come out of darkness into light.

As we know from the best Twilight Zone episodes -- and the hallucination sequence in "It's A Wonderful Life"... and the terminal onslaught of Alzheimer's Disease -- the quintessential horror is to lose one's identity en route to becoming "something" one is not.

Ultimately, "religion gone astray" (as religion is prone to do) results in the unparalleled zeal with which "Good People" routinely do the most harm.

"The terrible thing about our time is precisely the ease with which theories can be put into practice.  The more perfect, the more idealistic the theories, the more dreadful is their realization.  We are at last beginning to rediscover what perhaps men knew better in very ancient times, in primitive times before utopias were thought of: that liberty is bound up with imperfection, and that limitations, imperfections, errors are not only unavoidable but also salutary. The best is not the ideal.  Where what is theoretically best is imposed on everyone as the norm, then there is no longer any room even to be good.  The best, imposed as a norm, becomes evil.”

Hillary's pending release of medical records will provoke pressure that Trump release his tax returns, a pressure that will mount until November 8th.

We may never see Devious Donald's tax returns, but increasingly their obfuscation will become a political liability --- not for The Deplorables but for a significant number of so-called swing voters, those citizens who -- unlike you and me -- are actually capable of change.

It is often said that "this, that or the other" game is "a game of inches."

And so it is with the thin wedge of citizens who can -- and will -- change their minds.

O'Donnell did a disparaging  piece on the political media who passed up Trump's remarks about blowing little  Iranian boats out of the water for gesturing at our war ships ( world war 3) and Guiliani's remark about ' its war and anything is legal in war until it's over.'
They also dismissed the Farenthold piece on Trump's foundation and how he spends other people's money and claiming it as his own. He's been spending down a 5 million dollar donation in 2008 from the head of WWE and claiming it as his own. He was also fined for making an illegal donation and 4 charities claim he never made good on a promised gift.
Talk about no transparency. Nothing is , nor will it ever be,  known about the Trump foundation while everything is known about the Clinton foundation.
The media won't hold Trumps feet to the fire for no tax returns. Clinton's have 30 years out.
The CIA director essentially calling Trump a liar.
All they will talk about is Hillary having PNEUMONIA.
Have they all lost their mind?
