Alan: Like other demagogues Trump incites visceral reaction.
He is keenly aware that most people fear thinking, often because they don't know "how" to think (which is a learned skill).

The Donald's constituency is comprised of thoughtless reactors disproportionately reliant on authoritarian chains of political and ecclesial command.
Trump's thralls are relieved to have a forceful spokesman whose bombast describes a clear, "unquestionable" way forward, simultaneously shutting down any discussion that includes inconvenient facts or open inquiry.
"We all have a tendency to think that the world must conform to our prejudices. The opposite view involves some effort of thought, and most people would die sooner than think – in fact they do so." The ABC of Relativity (1925), p. 166.
Trump says Mount McKinley name change ‘insult to Ohio’
Here’s one more thing Donald Trump would do if elected president: Restore the name Mount McKinley to the country’s highest peak.
President Barack Obama’s decision to rename the mountain Denali, its historic Native American title, was knocked by Ohio lawmakers, as CNN writes.
The mountain was formerly named after Ohio native William McKinley, the country’s 25th president. Trump chimed in with this tweet Monday night: http://www.marketwatch.com/story/trump-says-mount-mckinley-name-change-insult-to-ohio-2015-09-01
