Alan: So Cruz... You say there's "nothing to be gained" by delay. What, prithee, was gained by shutting down government and whining about Obamacare that couldn't have been accomplished with anarchists and Molotov cocktails?

Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) says he will not hold up the deal cut by Senate Majority Leader Harry M. Reid (D-Nev.) and Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) to raise the debt limit through Feb. 7 and end the 16-day-old government shutdown. Cruz says there is "nothing to be gained" by delay though he still opposes the deal.
