De-fund and Repeat! The Negotiation From Hell

There's nothing to negotiate.

The law has been passed, it has had its day in The Supreme Court and been found constitutional by the body that specifically defines what is constitutional, the president campaigned on it and won, it is a cornerstone of his administration.

Prior to the last presidential election, the GOP itself described that contest as "a referendum on Obamacare."

The Affordable Care Act has been unsuccessfully challenged 41 times, and the entire law is based on what was originally a Republican think tank idea that was implemented by Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney.

That program, sometimes called Romney care is quite popular with Republicans themselves and operates more cost-effectively than the private insurance regime that preceded it.

Anyone who suggests that the Affordable Care Act is up for "negotiation" is not negotiating in good faith.

And anyone who suggests that current political theater constitutes a principled stand should have their head examined.
