Common antibiotic may help men resist the allure of attractive women

Ever wonder how to cure your guy of a wandering eye? According to new research the trick is to give them a dose of minocycline, an antibiotic used to treat acne.*According to a recent report in Nature, researchers asked 100 men to rate photos of women for attractiveness and trustworthiness and then had them state how much money they’d be willing to give them based on appearance alone, while knowing that some of the females could choose to keep it all, while others would give back triple the amount they got.
As it turned out, the men who took the antibiotic minocycline were less likely to trust the women and give them money, which apparently means they are “less likely to be seduced by them.” However, the men who did not take the drug continued to “act like typical males,” lavishing more money and gifts on the women they deemed most attractive.
While the whole thing seems rather improbable, the scientists interrated that for “some unknown reasons, yet to be discovered, minocycline seems to affect the brain, improving focus and mood.”
It should be noted, that while the drug may help keep your man “faithful,” it can reduce the effectiveness of oral contraceptives.[In addition, extended use of the drug has been known tp cause a number of side effects.
