Rowling was born July 31, 1965
With the creation of boy wizard Harry Potter, J.K. Rowling performed a kind of magic: She turned herself into one of the most beloved authors on the globe. But now, not content to rest on her laurels, Rowling is back for more. Her novel for adults, "The Casual Vacancy," was published last year. And then last month, we discovered that she was also the author – through pen name Robert Galbraith – of a thriller called "The Cuckoo's Calling."
