If the Supreme Court declares "Obamacare" unconstitutional, the United States could be catapulted toward fast track implementation of Single Payer Healthcare.
It is increasingly clear that American healthcare – more accurately described as “sickcare” -- is dysfunctional, and that the nation’s pending "lost decade" – accompanied by rising unemployment -- will deprive ever more people of care. In this milieu, mounting millions of Americans – “on both sides of the aisle” - will demand something be done.
The only readily available cost-effective approach to providing these millions with care is a single payer system. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Single_payer_healthcare
It is an incontrovertible fact that single payer healthcare produces "health outcomes" that are at least as healthy as the outcomes of America's current system. Furthermore, the per capita cost of single payer care is, on average, around one half the per capita cost of American sickcare.
