Alan: Apocalypse derives from the Greek words for "lifting the veil," usually translated into English as "revelation."
Perhaps the most significant component of America's apocalypse-in-process is that a a rich tapestry of historical truths (previously hidden from public view) are coming into the light of day.
The impact of this "lifting of the veil" -- this pulling back the curtain on The Wizard of Oz -- is that American conservatives have no option but plunging into deep denial, "alternative facts" and "fake news" to keep alive their ersatz vision of "America the Exceptional."
