The Kavanaugh "Case" On The Eve Of Dr. Christine Blasey Ford's Senate Testimony

When contemplating Kavanaugh, keep in mind that senate hearings are not "courts of law" but, primarily, "courts of public opinion." 

This is a "job interview" for The Supreme Court, not a "case" before The Supreme Court. 

In any event, we will await The Public's pronouncement even if "The Deplorables" rush Kavanaugh's confirmation on Friday.  

Notably, the Republican senators at tomorrow's inquiry are a group of 11 "conservative" white men so afraid they'll reveal themselves as sexist bullies that they have outsourced the "inquisition" to a female sex crimes prosecutor from Joe Arpaio's Maricopa County. (Gabriel García Márquez' Macondo has got nothin' on Maricopa County.)

If, as seems likely, the GOP rushes Kavanaugh's confirmation vote without an FBI investigation and without subpoenaing Kavanaugh's alleged coassailant Mark Judge (a "piece of work" by any measure), millions of American women, along with legions of men, will be so reviled by Kavanaugh's panicky confirmation that, in the midst of the blue wave already becoming a tsunami, even more enraged citizens will shift allegiance from red to blue, or simply decide to stay home on Election Day.

Although I hope "the truth will out" at tomorrow's senate hearing, the political pragmatist in me will still relish the GOP's suicidal blow if (when) it confirms Kavanaugh.

Just as Republicans should have been "careful what they wished for" when electing Despicable Donald, they should be at least as wary when confirming a candidate whose blotto drinking habits were enough to induce oblivion of alleged sex crimes.

The Republican Party, having already flipped off Lincoln, is becoming a side show freak.
