Dear E,

Thanks again.

I think your email is great and a very helpful update for people whose attention span is understandably limited to a three-day news cycle.

Speaking of which...

Why hasn't the press said anything about the "caravan" of Central Americans who were on the cusp of flooding the U.S. border.

I have seen no report about these folks since April 4th.

And that says a lot about our “news cycle.”
A story is news only when certain “big news” media decide that it is and usually it is to promote a certain political point. … Dare I say that when the caravan began to dismantle (as a result of Trump’s tough stance on immigration) that it was no longer the political message that the media wanted to promote???

:)

You may be right.

But two weeks ago, while the story was still "hot," I told a friend who was deeply concerned over the pending "conflict" that I thought the kerfuffle was largely Trumpian bombast and that the "caravan" would soon diffuse as it became clear "there was no there there."
