I had surgery in February. I got the bill today, $30,838. Medicare paid $26,222, Anthem Blue Cross paid $4,5997.
I pay zero. I like the way this works.

My brother Gerald is a nationally-renowned healthcare accountant. A few years ago he established temporary residence in Toronto, London, Paris and Moscow to study different healthcare systems providing "universal" coverage. He came away from this experience with the unshakeable conviction that only government-supervised universal healthcare (a position espoused by Donald Trump as recently as 2016) can cut cost in such a way that universal care is possible. As one University of Toronto grad to another, I draw your attention to "Canadian Healthcare: Not Perfect. Just Better. Lots Better." http://paxonbothhouses.blogspot.com/2013/11/canadian-healthcare-not-perfect-just.html National Geographic: Per Capita Healthcare Expenditure Correlated To Longevity http://paxonbothhouses.blogspot.com/2013/03/national-geographic-chart-of-per-capita.html
