Maria has made me aware that America's "original sin" is "our" genocidal land grab, a fact -- "plain as potatoes" to use Chesterton's phrase -- which I increasingly see as rationalized by Judeo-Christian patriarch Abraham's land grab when he came "out of Ur" (present day Iraq) and stole Canaan from the Canaanites. In his telling, "God made him do it." (A pertinent side note... Last Christmas Maria gave me her own copy of Roxanne Dunbar-Ortiz' "An Indigenous Peoples' History Of The United States" (which I have with me here in Oaxaca) and its well-researched text is an eyeopener even for those of us who have managed to penetrate -- at least in part -- The Official Story of denial and obfuscation, both informed by shadow-projection.

It is also an eyeopener to read "An Indigenous Peoples' History Of The United States" here in Mexico where every face I see is evidently Native American.
