Compas,
Here's the scoop on "Mudbound," the movie I recommended at last Sunday's rehearsal.
It was made by Netflix and always streams.
"Mudbound" just got three Oscar nominations.
Here are some reviews.
"Roger Ebert's" Review: https://www.rogerebert.com/reviews/mudbound-2017
My cinephile friend, B, says his single most trustworthy measure for judging whether he's likely to enjoy a movie is the "Metacritic Score" (on a scale of 100) which IMDb always provides inside a green box on each movie's homepage.
Although no movie pleases everyone, I think "Mudbound" is uncommonly deserving of a "look-see".
In the role of Pappy McAllan, actor Jonathan Banks embodies race hatred in a vicious, spiteful, transgenerationally-mindless way that made me "wince" every time the sonofabitch needed "a dog to kick."
