I venture that you, I and everyone we know -- under analogous circumstances -- would not have "tossed the match."

When historians look back on The National Lunacy, the "coddled criminals" will be those madmen (and madwomen) who infected American society with hate-driven vindictiveness while we, "The Good Germans," stood by and let them.

We normalized clinical insanity and our redefinition of reality will bite us in the ass for decades.

Although I do not advocate implementation of the following "proposal," America would be a significantly more civilized place if we locked up rabid white right-wingers at the same disproportionate rate as Afro-American males whose primary crime is "walking while black." 

Trayvon Martin was killed -- and his killing was normalized The Legal System -- for the core "crime" of walking while black."

ALL of these were necessary to cause the murder. But the loud music has not been credited as an essential cause.

Kids are loud.

It's in their nature (as Aquinas would say).

By way of response to adolescent rambunctiousness, adults "should" use discretion in conjunction with moderation.

If these virtues do not work, then wisdom counsels them to walk away.

Or, they may become felons by failing to control their reaction to childish misdemeanor.

"Stand Your Ground" is grounded in adolescent adults seeking to normalize violence as a appropriate alternative to walking away.

It is not.

Yes, they need to behave.

But for now young black guys will nose-dive to the level of expectation.

Currently we "expect" young clack males to be imprisoned three and a half times more often than white guys who commit the same crime.

Here's what I think.

I think that if you and I were black, we would be rabid mad muthafuckers who consider honkies like us dumbfuck don't-know-squats.

A middle approach is to kick the rambunctious ones in  the butt -- that might keep them out of jail.
I would strongly support the efforts of impoverished youth to improve their conditions, but when it comes to noise -- shut the fucking music off
