American Energy Preferences, Gallup Poll

The Sun
It's "forever."
"Free" for the taking.

***

76% of Americans want more emphasis on the development of solar power and 71% on solar power. 46% want more emphasis on the production of oil and 31% on the production of coal.

Fact: Despite the "increased reserves" attributable to fracking, petroleum is limited resource and the price of gas (despite an occasional dip) will continue to rise, especially when economic vitality returns to China and India.

Fact: Analagous to "Moore's Law," the price of solar energy will continue to go down "forever." http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Moore's_law

Preferential treatment for oil companies only makes sense to people who lack the intellectual capacity or the intellectual rigor to "read the writing on the wall."
