The Purpose Of Prayer

Prayer. Atheism:

Alan: As a form of enchantment that reminds us what we must do to embody love, prayer is an effective and (often a) necessary tool.

For most people, "going to church" is the only "set" time they are reminded of The Common Good and encouraged to make it happen here and now.

These favorable outcomes presuppose that people "go to a church" that practices good religion.

I do not rule out others benefits of prayer, but reminder, remembrance and enchantment are certainly three of them.

Alan: The quotation above is not always true.
