Alan: Bottom feeder Donald J. Trump (and his swamp dwelling kin) have begun their diabolical campaign to vilify honorable witnesses.
This isn't just my opinion.
This is rudimentary sanity taking a stand against The Lizard People.

Lest we forget...
Lieutenant Colonel Vindman is one of Trump's "best people," chosen by the Trump administration itself to serve on The National Security Council.

"Who Lieutenant Colonel Alexander Vindman Really Is"
There are going to be a lot more days like yesterday, unfortunately.
Lt. Col. Alexander Vindman had the courage to put the country’s interests before his own. Vindman, the top Ukraine expert on the National Security Council, came forward to tell the truth about President Trump’s actions, despite the obvious risks to his career.
That can’t be an easy thing for anyone to do — to blow the whistle on a boss, let alone the commander in chief. And for his courage, Vindman was rewarded by having his patriotism demeaned by Republicans including John Yoo, Sean Duffy and multiple Fox News hosts. They suggested that, as an immigrant, he wasn’t loyal to the United States.
It was the latest proof that Trump’s enablers have given up on defending the president on the merits. They’re left with false character assassination.
Here’s a more accurate set of descriptions of Vindman:
Tiana Lowe, Washington Examiner: “It shouldn’t have to be said, but Lt. Col. Alexander Vindman, the National Security Council officer testifying in the House impeachment proceeding, is a great American patriot.”
Jay Nordlinger, National Review: “A short while ago, men such as Robert Mueller, William Taylor, and Alexander Vindman would have been pin-ups for (us) American conservatives: decorated combat veterans; patriots; straight arrows. The urge to prop up Trump changed all of this. A heartbreaking and infuriating era.”
Jonathan Chait, New York magazine: “Republicans outsourced Ukraine policy to a private lawyer being paid by Russian mobsters. An Army vet objected to their extortion racket. Republicans are calling him disloyal.”
Lawfare’s Susan Hennessey took down the attempt by Yoo — a law professor and former George W. Bush administration official — to walk back his slandering of Vindman: “Maybe being incredibly uninformed is a preferable defense to making a xenophobic smear.”
And CNN’s Jim Sciutto offered a list of other American national security officials and politicians who were born oversees, including Ted Cruz, John McCain, Zbigniew Brzezinski, Elaine Chao, Mark Meadows, Madeleine Albright and Alexander Hamilton.
Related. Vindman reportedly told impeachment investigators that the White House record of Trump’s phone call with Ukraine’s president contained deliberate omissions. “Every charge against the president has proved true as the investigation has progressed, and not a single witness so far has provided countervailing evidence,” the former Justice Department official Matthew Miller wrote.
