Jesus never said a word about homosexuality. In the entire bible, there is no reference to abortion.
No matter what we think - or what think we think - it makes considerably more sense to embody the teachings that Jesus expressed clearly than to build
elaborate theologies around "teachings" that never crossed his lips. To do so strikes me as grave moral peril - a real risk of self-apotheosis.

Turning Around: A Mother Embraces Her Gay Daughter
July 18 2012
Guest host Sean Cole speaks to Shari Johnson of Odessa, Texas, who says her daughter was always estranged from the family and she only found out why later in life. Shari’s daughter, Cholene, called home as an adult and read a letter coming out as gay. That triggered a long process of coming to terms with something that Shari's faith deemed a sin. It also prompted Shari to share secrets in her book, "Above All Things." [Photo: Shari Johnson, her daughter Cholene Espinoza, and Shari's husband, James]
CHOLENE'S STORY
Sean calls up Shari Johnson's daughter Cholene Espinoza to hear about coming out and reconciling.
