Kellyanne Conway Suggests That Women With Kids Shouldn’t Take Jobs in the White House
Alan: I believe children develop best when they have a good stay-at-home parent.
For Conway to suggest that the stay-at-home parent be a woman -- without mentioning that a man could fill the role equally well -- is sexism at its most caricaturish.
Given the number of depressed women I know -- and it is a fact that women are more prone to depression and anxiety than men, a stay-at-home Dad would often be a better stay-at-home parent. http://www.apa.org/news/press/releases/2011/08/mental-illness.aspx
Conway's comment is not only blind, but aspires to poke out the eyes of meta-level understanding.
