Dear J,
The following article may interest you.
The Most Dreadful Murder Of The Century
A true crime book about a 19th-century murder that takes an unexpected turn
It reminds me how few people Jack the Ripper killed.
Do you know how many?
The so-called "Whitechapel Murders" (with which Jack is associated) took place between 3 April 1888 and 13 February 1891.
There were eleven Whitechapel murders although The Ripper is certainly connected -- by his distinctive modus operandi -- to only five, the so-called "canonical murders."
Since there is plenty of harsh description (and one harsh photograph) in Jack's Wikipedia article, you may not wish to review it. https://en.wikipedia.org/ wiki/Jack_the_Ripper
Love
Alan
P.S. If memory serves, Mum was born in London just 3 years after Jack's spree ended. Gramma and Grampa Green (George and Harriet?) must have been impressionable young Londoners at the time.
